Both 2020’s The Kingdom, which charted at the number 4 position on Billboard and 2022’s The Art of Survival, which charted at the number eight position on Billboard prove that after nearly thrity-one years, Rossdale and the guys aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The setlist for the most part was a back and forth between newer material classic era Bush with “Identity” getting things started before quickly switching to the band’s 1994 number one single “Machinehead.” While many bands from the ’90s grunge era are long gone, Bush continues to strive and create new material that continues to grow their fanbase. The current lineup consists of frontman Gavin Rossdale, Chris Traynor on guitars, Corey Britz on bass, and Nik Hughes on drums. Multi-platinum selling Bush wrapped things up for the evening with a sixteen song set that perfectly blended the bands new and old material spanning the nine studio albums. The set wrapped up with “Cover Me,” “Far Behind” in which a lucky fan joined the band on stage and “You.” The guys saw the album debut at the number seven spot on the Billboard charts and released two singles from the album, “Let Me Down Easy,” and “My Weakness.” The night’s set kicked off with four classic hits “Arrow,” “Simple Lessons,” “Change,” and “Blossom” before shifting to some newer material. The guys released their seventh studio album, Wolves back in September of 2021. The fact so many younger fans were singing along with vocalist Kevin Martin on classic hits like, “Far Behind” and “Cover Me” proves that the album has stood the test of time. It’s been nearly thirty years since Candlebox released their iconic self-titled debut album. Devora played a short five song opening set that consisted of “Body Bag,” “God Is Dead,” and wrapped up with “Outlaw.” The singer definitely peaked the interest of the crowd with her unique style, and I’m sure added to her growing following. The singer just released her latest EP, God Is Dead last month, fans can stream the EP HERE.
The singer decked out with a cowboy hat, leather shorts, cowboy boots, and red guitar brought her style of “outlaw pop” to the DC crowd. The tour has several openers on it but on this night it was fellow ’90s alt-rockers Candlebox and up and new comer Devora.ĭevora kicked things off for the night as fans made their way into The Anthem. The tour is in support of their ninth studio album, The Art of Survival, which was released back in October 2022 and hit the number eight spot on the US Rock and Metal Album charts. The tour is the first headlining tour for the guys in five years. Bush brought their ‘The Art of Survival Tour’ to The Anthem in Washington DC on Wednesday night.
